Proposal Number One – Foot Paths
Expand the footpath system from the back of the rare fruit garden across the lake connector by a foot bridge to the back of the eastern lake. Around the back of the eastern lake with a 3 way split, one path following the lakes edge to the back of the Galleria building. One split going over to the Lei Garden and the final one following the ditch to the back gate area. The path going to the Lei Garden will split and travel around both sides of the Felts Pond. The southern most side will trail up the tiers to the second tier for a view over the park and new succulent beds to the east and view of the new bamboo garden to the west. A new circle path will be added to the front lake traveling through the banana grove and around the lake.

Currently St. Stephens School has taken on the path project around Felts Lake as its own. But many other areas are still available.

Proposal Number Two – Improve and Expand Irrigation System
Locate and evaluate all existing irrigation pipes, sprinklers, diverters, control valves and connecters. Install appropriate sized lines from the reclaimed water systems to current and proposed specialty garden areas.

Proposal Number Three – Large Specimen Quality Trees
Locate and obtain several large specimen trees such as but not limited to:

Jacaranda Royal Poinciana Kapok
Golden Rain Orchid Tree Tipu

These need to be spade sized trees to provide needed shade between eastern lake and Felts Pond.

Proposal Number Four – Succulent/Rock Garden
On tank tier number one till up the existing sod and remove the debris. Install a variety of succulents including but not limited to dessert rose, barrel cactus, pony tail palms, yuccas, Madagascar palms etc. Top coat this bed in a variety of interesting and different types of rocks

Proposal Number Five – Information Sign
Using poles from the former bird cage erect a 4x8 covered informational sign in front of the large parking area. This sign would have a small roof to protect the surface from the elements. A sheet of Plexiglas would cover each side to allow for postings for activities I the park, a park map and other information regarding the park.

Proposal Number Six – Native Plants along Southern Boundary
Continue the native planting of pines, grasses and shrubs started by the previous president along the southern border of the park.

Proposal Number Seven – Additional Wheelchair Ramp
Add wheelchair ramp to the westside of the Galleria building to allow for shorter route to the raised deck.

Proposal Number Eight – New Back Patio and Stairs
Redesign the back stair case off the Galleria and Office to allow for a more gentle slope, wider threads and more stable handrail. Make this new staircase out of more durable material such as concrete or composite lumber. Remove existing high maintenance lawn and install paver patio with interspersed planters. Also install pipes for tent erection and electric for new lighting.
